Tavon is an amazing place empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This community festival provides an opportunity open to the public to experience and appreciate the beautiful environment and work that is Tavon. Special appreciation needs to go to Therese Vafaeezadeh who is retiring as the original Executive Director and to the entire staff and supporters who have together built and maintain this unique community.

Alki Arts is a venerated institution in the West Seattle community supporting local artists for many years. They are known for sharing high quality local art at affordable prices. This event is part of the July second-Thursday West Seattle Art Walk.  Thank you to owner/curator Diane Venti for the opportunity. Friend Alan Sobel will be joining me for part of the performance. This event is part of the Gravity Project that was initiated by Daniel Fried providing community and a recurring supportive environment to help people overcoming addiction of all types. Regular gatherings Gravity events are free, open to the public, and provide artistic and social opportunities. Featured activities at this event will include: The Scholar Stone Project — painting calligraphy, poems, blessings, symbols, intentions, and messages onto smooth river stones inspired by the ancient tradition of scholar stones.
